Improving your soil health
June 21 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
The Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District will be offering a hands-on “Improving Your Soil Health” workshop on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 4-6pm.
Join Robin Dunn, soil and compost enthusiast, and Michele Windsor, OCSWCD Program Manager to learn about soil health!
Topics covered will include:
- Why soil health matters
- The components of healthy soils
- Tools like compost, worm bins, mycelium, and biochar
- Supporting healthy & lively soils in your backyard & garden
- Getting a closer look at soil microbes through a microscope
Participants will leave with ideas for tangible steps they can take at home to improve the health of their soils, gardens, and local ecosystem! Healthy soils mean larger, more robust flowers, fruits, and vegetables, more beautiful landscapes, and a property that is more resilient to extreme weather.
The program fee is $10.00. Any payments can be made on the day of the event by cash or check.
The workshop is limited to 25 participants and the registration deadline is Thursday, June 20. Reserve your spot early so you don’t miss out!
